Our interest started in German shepherds when I married Joan, she is animal crazy, which was in 1963. The Gayville Affix was registered with the Kennel Club in 1968. We started showing & breeding professionally in 1972 with a female purchased from the Numark’s kennel. Numark’s Minuet won well for us & in her first litter produced the C.C. winners Gayville’s Ambition & Allicanti. We have since then produced 8 UK. Champions & 7 Overseas Champions. Namely Canti, Dixie who was best of breed at Crufts 1988, Zara quarantine born, Xera who won 20 c.c.’s and our National in 1993 & 1995. She is also the mother of the famous duo GB/Ir. Ch’s. Nilo & Nathalie. Nilo is also a F.C.I. Champion with 4 C.A.C.I.B’s. to his credit & the only one in GB. He is also the Breed Record Holder & currently holds 52 c.c.’s. & he also has won the National twice in 1996 & the year 2000. He is also privileged to have been top G.S.D. 6 consecutive years from 1996. He was also Annual Irish Champion in 1997, we are very proud of him he is a really special dog, & the most successful of the modern era. The most recent male Champion, Kato, and the youngest to take his title before the age of 2 years, also the Breed Councils Top youth in 2002. Closely followed by our most recent female Champion, Italia, and the only UK. gsd. to have taken her title and European working qualification in the same year and the Breed Councils Top young adult in 2002. Hopefully she will be shown at this years Belgium, Dutch and German Sieger shows.

I started judging at Open show level in 1979 & at Championship show level in 1987. My judging has taken me to the North Island & South Island of New Zealand, also Nairobi, East Africa twice in 1991 and again 2001 also Jamaica. In 1998 I was appointed assessor by the Breed Council for Adult females at the Quality Assessment Rallies inaugural event and since then for Adult males. The Breed Council also appointed me as Breed Surveyor in 1997 and currently the only surveyor to have surveyed over 150 Shepherds. At the Breed Council's AGM. March 14th.2004, I was proposed and accepted for the position of Vice Chairperson and also Chairperson for the Finance panel.

In 2003 the Team has been joined by our granddaughter Samantha, the third generation to contribute to the success of this Kennel of World Renown. Very quickly Samantha has been recognised as a top handler of the future. Having already handled Best of Breeds and a reserve c.c. winners and the Open Bitch winner at this years National. Currently gaining European experience in showing and working at the Amulree kennel in Belgium. Samantha has now handled at her first show held in Antwerp, in Belgium, where she gained a creditable 4th. place in the working female class in a strong entry of 17. Samantha is determined too achieve the very high ambitions she is setting. After qualifying 2 shepherds with BH. she is now working towards her first sch.h.1. Opening up even more avenues for the "G Force".
Look to the Future and you will see her.
