I have owned Weimaraners since 1973 but it wasn’t until 1987 that I obtained my first bitch, the foundation bitch of the Stormdancer Kennels, Graveney’s Storm Dancer. I hold the Canine Studies Institute ‘ Diploma of Judging’ and have the required Kennel Club accreditation on Conformation and Movement and passed The Kennel Club examination on the Requirements of a Dog Show Judge. I judge Weimaraners and other gundogs all over Great Britain. As a licensed breeder I am responsible for my puppies for the whole of his or her life. I strongly believe that if anyone is not in the position to take a dog back if, for any reason, the owner can no longer care for the dog, that person should not be breeding at all. Whilst I do not expect any breeder to buy the dog back (unless it has some previously undetected congenital defect) I do expect every breeder to take their responsibility seriously and to do their utmost to ensure that no dog they have bred is ever placed in an animal shelter.

I breed with specific aims in mindand the breeding programme is carefully planned and researched to try to produce specific qualities. I ensure my girls produce no more than 4 litters in their lifetime as opposed to the Kennel Club allowied 6 litters! There should be a season between litters and bitches should not whelp before they are 2 years of age unless there is a veterinary problem and it is on the written advice of a veterinary surgeon. When not involved with the dogs I spend too much money on handbags, shoes and clothes! My Dad calls me a shopaholic and as usual he is right! I also love nice (but FAST) cars and the local Volvo dealer must always be delighted to see me! The farm is run as a Horse and Pony Retirement Home of which I am the owner and manager. I have always loved and been devoted to the welfare of animals and will always continue to do my best for them.
